New Wave and Pay Technology to Smart Phones

The iphones would be having a new technology in them soon, that is known as the "wave and pay technology".We can say that the fashion of credit cards is soon to get expired.
Payment transactions would become extremely easy with this new technology. The Near-Field Communication is the technology to be credit behind this easy transaction which is set to be taking place soon.A customer would merely wave or tap an NFC-equipped smartphone in front of a receiver to complete a transaction. The New York Times reports that an upcoming Apple iPhone--though it may not be the iPhone 5--will feature NFC capabilities.

"According to two people with knowledge of the inner workings of a coming iteration of the Apple iPhone -- although not necessarily the next one -- a chip made by Qualcomm for the phone's processor will also include near-field communication technology," writes the Times.

In addition, an NFC-equipped iPhone will reportedly share data with the customer's iTunes account. According to the Times, "One person familiar with the new Apple feature said the phone's credit card information would be tied to information currently used on iTunes, which would make it simple for customers to set up the new mobile payment method on the iPhone."

Cult of Mac recently reported that Apple is testing a "remote computing system" that allows the user to log into the Mac App store by tapping an NFC-equipped Apple laptop with an NFC-equipped iPhone.

Neither the Times's sources not Cult of Mac's tipster specified which iPhone Apple plans to release with this e-wallet technology.

Why I Don't Need A Smart Phone

Obviously I want my phone to be smart enough to make calls, and text, but that's about it. It seems like every day another of my friends gets a smartphone, and every now and then I get a little jealous of them. But once I sit back and think about it, I realize that the jealousy is just "shiny new gadget" jealously and isn't really me, it's just me being such a good actress gushing over a phone that I've even convinced myself!

Yes, it might be handy to have a smartphone, but I've lived a full life thus far without one, and I think I'm going to keep on keeping on in my way for quite a while.

1. Too expensive. First you pay for the device, and then in order to use the device to its fullest potential, you need the huge data plan. I currently pay ~$50/month for my non-smart phone, and even that makes me grumble sometimes, especially when I consider that I use it mostly as a clock. I've asked around, and no one that I know pays less than $100/month for their smart phone. Do I want to double my phone bill? Answer: no.
2. Too distracting. Do I really need to play Angry Birds whenever I have a moment of downtime? Do I need to check facebook every ten minutes? Do I need an app that simulates bread toasting? Yes, a gadget-loving co-worker has told me about a few comparison shopping apps that might be a bit awesome, but I'm certainly not going to save any money with them if I double my monthly phone bill! I won't let her trick me, she's already talked me into buying a Nook that I never use.
3. I already have a GPS--that's another practical use for a smartphone that certainly applies to me, but I've already got that base covered AND it was only a one-time fee, technically a gift.
4. I kind of hate people with smartphones. I've found, that having a smartphone around means that you have to google everything all the time, or you just constantly have it in hand for one reason or another. Yes, it's handy it you want to spontaneously go to a movie, or if you're off on an adventure and you need to make new plans, but you can also figure things out. I like relying on my ingenuity, or speculating about something rather than just having the (sometimes dubious) answers right there. If I really, really need the internet, I can call someone, or the library, and have them google it for me. I've done it before.
5. I want my phone to be a phone--and sometimes a clock. That's all I really need, and I barely talk on the thing anyway. I hate talking on the phone and I much prefer texting or IMing, which is clunky on a smartphone.

So yes, sometimes I'm made to feel like a Luddite, but honestly, if all your friends have smartphones, save your money and just make them do all the "smart" stuff you may need. They'll feel proud of their gadget, and you'll feel proud of your bank account.

The Future of Smartphones - 4G, Android and Powerful

Smartphone has become an extremely popular category in mobile phone world. In the past 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, smartphone has been a hot topic, and people pay more attention to smartphones. But, as cell phone fans, what we care most may be the trends of smartphone.

First trend is 4G phones or called LTE phones. What is a 4G phone? The normal phones we use is called 2G phones, they use GSM and CDMA networks, and some smartphones like iPhone 4 uses the advanced 3G, which has superior simultaneous use of speech and data services, it provides peak date rates of at least 200 kbit/s, but that is also out of fashion now, because 4G phones will replace its position. 4G means the fourth generation of cellular wireless standards, it develops a lot on the peak rate which can be 100Mbit/s for high mobility communication and 1 Gbit/s for public areas, from the statistics we can see how much it improves. 4G are so expected because people want a lot of data and they are annoyed by the slow network. There aren't many 4G phones available up till now, and it only can be available in United States because only Sprint Company claimed to have 4G network, but there are only two mobile phone which support the network: HTC EVO 4G and the Samsung Epic 4G, maybe in the future, 4G will be as popular as 3G now.

The second trend of smartphone is how prevalent the Android operating system in the mobile ecosystem. There are a lot of OEMs and device manufacturers agree that Google and the Android platform is the future. Android might be the possible opponent that can confront iPhone.

The amount of applications has rapidly increased. The Microsoft Web OS, BlackBerry are all racing each other, they all have good devices and good products, who will be the king operating system, nobody can predict, but the truth is that Android looks really strong and has the potential to fight Apple.

Finally, we can't image how incredible and powerful a cell phone can be, maybe one day in the future, smartphone is a small computer that can make phone calls. For example, Motorola released its new cell phone model Motorola Atrix 4G which has a dual core processor that can dock to desktop monitor and laptop station, and it is really a full-featured netbook. It is just a smartphone but it has big processor and much memory, it can run a large display. It seems that mobile phone can be a really small computer.

All in all, people need all performance wherever they go, smartphones become more powerful like portable computers.
